Institute of Sustainability for Chemicals, Energy and Environment (ISCE2) Overview

Dr Koh Chen Ning
Division Director
ISCE2 A-STAR

DATE AND TIME

2 July 2024, Tuesday | 4.00pm – 5.00pm

Singapore has committed to achieve net zero emissions by 2050. To achieve this, we will have to focus on decarbonising our power and industry sectors, as they contribute over 80% of Singapore’s current primary emissions.

Even with existing efforts to reduce emissions through measures such as maximising the deployment of solar PVs, bringing these sectors to net zero will require the deployment of nascent low-carbon technologies such as carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS) and low-carbon hydrogen.

This presentation will introduce the research work that is currently being pursued in the Institute of Sustainability for Chemicals, Energy and Environment (ISCE2) and how it can contribute in Singapore’s journey to harness the low-carbon technologies to meet our climate commitments.
