As the ITC industry approaching 35 Gigawatt scale of new data center builds by 2030, up from 17 Gigawatt in 2022 of Data Center Infrastructure in North America region alone, AWS, Apple, Google, Microsoft, Meta, joined by the Nvidia’s GPU shipments are on track to triple the capacity growth of Data Centers in 2024 with the challenges of geopolitical, market and global power policy uncertainties facing the clean builders. Energy Consumption in Data Centers and Broadband Communication Networks are booming in Asia Pacific Region and recently Singapore allowed for 300MW. The trend of The Future of Data Center growth is ignited by ChatGPT since its introduction in Nov 2022, Generative AI adoptions, GPU deployments at fast paced by hyperscaler and AI Data Center colocation providers raising concerns of energy and resource usage and the environmental impacts.

About the Speaker

Susanna Kass spoke at IES for the past three years, and as a practitioner, led 3.8 Gigawatt of Clean Energy projects as a global trailblazer across 17 counties; in promoting clean energy growth and a thriving carbon free economy that is sustainable. She is an entrepreneur and AI scientist focus on discovering AI technology to accelerate performance, energy (resource usage) efficiency, and sustainability. Currently, she is leading Absolute Zero design and investments for the Future of Data Centers in the AI era. Kass has over 33 years of Data Center experience, her achievements included scale business ventures from the ground up to $Billions USD. Her clients include UN SDG-EP, Microsoft, Google, Apple, Meta, AWS, Goldman Sachs and Equinix who deliver decarbonized cloud services. Kass is a recipient of The Lifetime Achievement Contributor Award for the World of Data Center by DCD, Elite Achievers Club by CIO Women Magazine, Top 10 Women in DC, ranks 1st at Top 10 Sustainability Leaders in the Global World of Data Centers by Capacity Media, a member of topmost 50 Climate Change leaders, Power 100, Top 50 Women in Tech in San Francisco, Top 100 Outstanding Mothers by Women Most Admired and Top 10 Data Center Influencers to Follow on LinkedIn.
